A Weekend Getaway at The Loft Hotel Montreal

A Weekend Getaway at The Loft Hotel Montreal

My husband and I haven’t visited Montreal in years.  We use to visit every year for a quick getaway from Toronto.  We were excited to be heading back and researched a few places to stay and finally decided on the Loft Hotel.  It is such a unique hotel with all loft suites.

The Loft Hotel was completed in 1920 by Montreal’s preeminent architect, Ernest Cormier, the building is one of the city’s enduring Art Deco landmarks.  It’s uses over the years has varied from Montreal’s first underground parking garage (le Montée du Zouave of the Motordrome), to a storage space for Canadian Armed Forces tanks, and, perhaps most suitably, an “inspirational environment” for artists.

The Loft Hotel offers uniquely designed loft suites.  The suits have spacious room layouts featuring high ceilings and large windows.  Each suite is tastefully appointed with warm, contemporary designer furnishings, luxurious bedding, a fully-equipped kitchen and modern appliances.  Complimentary wireless internet access is available throughout the property.

We stayed in a boutique loft room that starts at 1000 sq ft and has an open concept featuring 10-foot ceilings, a king-size bed with a feather topper & goose down pillows.  The suite is equipped with a full kitchen (not that we cooked) with a stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots & pans, flatware, dishes and more.

The spacious living room with a comfortable leather sofa was a great place to sit and unwind before calling it a night.  The hotel also offered a buffet style continental breakfast each morning and I have to say that they had the best coffee I have ever had in a hotel.  The staff were extremely friendly and always on hand to help in any way needed.

I enjoyed our stay at The Loft Hotel as the rooms, as you can see, were extremely spacious.  It was like home away from home. Nothing is worse then feeling crammed in a small hotel room.

The hotel is also very popular for weddings and other functions.  They have three spectacular event spaces that are available to host various functions from private parties, executive meetings and receptions.

I would highly recommend staying at The Loft Hotel if you are in the Montreal area.  It is close to all the tourist attractions, shopping and all the wonderful restaurants.  Thank you Loft Hotel for a wonderful weekend getaway.
