Hotel Grand Pacific Victoria

Heading to Victoria, Vancouver, and looking for a place to stay. The Hotel Grand Pacific is the perfect location in Victoria for your visit. As the capital of British Columbia, there’s much to see and do around Victoria; visiting historic landmarks, embarking on outdoor adventures, and relaxing into the island lifestyle, to name but a few fun activities. The Hotel Grand Pacific is a great place to base yourself on this exploration – why not borrow one of the hotel’s bikes and head out into Victoria’s famous scenery?

This was my first time in Victoria and the Hotel Grand Pacific was the perfect home base for our visit. After exploring Banff and Jasper I knew I had to head out and explore British Columbia.

Hotel Grand Pacific Dining

The Pacific Restaurant & Terrace

Headed by Executive Chef Ian Goard, The Pacific Restaurant & Terrace is a bistro-style dining venue that makes use of regional ingredients in both classic and creative dishes. Carnivores will enjoy the grilled top sirloin, confit pork saddle, or wagyu beef burger, while veggies can try the arctic char – gnocchi with cauliflower, celery root, leeks and fennel, in a lemon caper butter sauce.

These are best paired with wines suggested by the in-house sommeliers, though there is a wide selection of beers, ciders, cocktails and spirits, if you prefer.

The Hotel Grand Pacific’s main restaurant is open daily from 7-11am for breakfast and 4-9pm for dinner service. There is a happy hour from 4pm to 5.30pm. There is also a children’s menu and room service can be ordered from this restaurant.

*Note that there is usually West Coast Afternoon Tea available (12.30-3.30pm), but this has been temporarily suspended.

The Pacific Lounge

The Pacific Lounge specializes in drinks and light bites, such as house-cured meats, local cheeses, sandwiches and salads. For beverages, choose one of the signature martinis, tea cocktails, wine on tap, or locally-brewed draft beers.

The Pacific Lounge is open Sunday to Thursday 4-9pm, and Friday and Saturday 4-10pm (kitchen until 9pm). Happy Hour runs from 4-5.30pm daily.

Courtyard Café

The perfect place to get your morning caffeine fix, the Courtyard Café aims to emulate the West Coast’s enduring café culture. Grab a cup of Joe and a baked treat for the road, or take a seat and enjoy people-watching along Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The Courtyard Café is open from 7am-6pm daily, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dining Events

The Hotel Grand Pacific also hosts special dining events, such as The Pacific Fondue, which takes place from 4-8pm daily at The Pacific Restaurant (reservations required and seating is limited).

HGP at Home

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Hotel Grand Pacific is encouraging locals to order dinner to takeaway, rather than eat in at the restaurants. Meals available for takeout include duck confit, beef lasagna, lamb shank, pork side ribs and turkey pot pie, among other specialties from The Pacific Restaurant culinary team.
