And then there’s Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro, rising gracefully above it all. The moment you arrive, the view hits you — sweeping ocean panoramas framed by ochre cliffs. It’s one of those rare places where you instantly feel your shoulders drop and your breath slow down.
The best part? Every morning, I woke up to the sound of waves crashing below and stepped out onto my balcony to that endless blue horizon. If you book here, get the ocean view room — trust me, it’s worth it.
As we pulled into the driveway of the Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro Portugal, we were welcomed by the friendly staff who escorted us to the lobby of the hotel. Upon entering the hotel lobby, you can’t help but be drawn to the large window at the back of the hotel with views of the cliffs and the ocean. We were checked in quickly and immediately made our way to our room to freshen up before exploring the property.
The Rooms at Hotel Tivoli– Coastal Calm with a Touch of Luxe
The hotel Tivoli recently underwent a full renovation, and it shows. Everything feels modern, fresh, and perfectly in sync with the surrounding landscape.
My room had a soft, natural color palette — creamy linens, light wood, subtle ocean-inspired tones. The vibe is luxury without being pretentious. The bed? Cloud-level comfy. And the little touches — like a Nespresso machine, plush robes, and a rainfall shower — made it feel extra special.
If you can, splurge on a suite with a private balcony or Jacuzzi. Watching the sunset with a glass of Portuguese wine in hand, soaking in that view? Absolute bliss.
Our stay was in a deluxe sea view room with a furnished balcony with ocean views. The rooms are styled in a sleek, modern California coastal white decor, the perfect canvas for the incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop.
The spacious sea view room is furnished with a double bed, a large armoire, desk, a Nespresso coffee machine, and complimentary WIFI. The bathrooms have a large rain shower and luxury amenities. We loved returning to our room nightly to the turndown service and the chocolate treats left on our pillows.
The best part of the room is the private balcony overlooking the incredible ocean views. Nothing beats waking up to the soothing sound of the waves.
Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro Food & Drink – Sunshine on a Plate
Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro doesn’t disappoint when it comes to dining. The breakfast spread alone deserves a whole paragraph — freshly baked pastries, local cheeses, tropical fruit, and barista coffee with that view. It’s basically breakfast heaven.
For dinner, The One Restaurant serves elevated Portuguese cuisine — think grilled octopus, fresh seafood, and Algarve wines. If you’re in the mood for something casual, the Sky Bar is the perfect spot for sundowners. Picture yourself sipping a chilled cocktail as the sky melts into pink and gold over the cliffs. Unreal.
Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro Sky Bar
The Tivoli Carvoeiro Sky Bar is a great place to grab drinks before dinner and enjoy the stunning sunset on the large terrace. They offer a great selection of cocktails and beers as well as cool music.
The One Wine Boutique
The One Wine Boutique offers fine dining with Portuguese dishes and wines from the Algarve region. Each of the courses is paired with local wine. The dishes were prepared by Chef Bruno Rocha with local, fresh ingredients.
Med Food & Wine
Breakfast was served every morning at the Med Food & Wine Bar. The buffet style breakfast had a large selection of charcuterie, cheeses, fruit, cereal and bread. There is also a made to order omelet station. They also offer a buffet for dinners with a different theme every night.
MARE BISTRO
Mare Bistro is an upscale Bistro featuring the freshest daily catches. It is a great place for lunch to take in the views of the ocean.
The Pool at Tivoli Carvoeiro
The Tivoli Carvoeiro circular outdoor pool offers the perfect place to soak up the sun and take in the cliff views with the sound of the waves in the background.
The hotel has a staircase that leads to a small sandy beach. Carvoeiro beach is a short 10-minute walk from the hotel.
Wellness & Relaxation
The Tivoli Spa is where I truly unplugged. Their signature massages use local botanicals and essential oils — I left feeling like I’d melted into the massage table. There’s also a fully equipped gym and both indoor and outdoor pools.
Pro tip: hit the infinity pool in the morning when it’s quiet. The light, the sea breeze, the reflection of the cliffs — it’s pure serenity.
The Views at Hotel Tivoli Carvoeiro
The best part of the resort is the view of Vale Covo. The hotel couldn’t be in a more perfect location as it encircles the views. Every part of the resort offers spectacular views which makes it one of the best places to stay in the Algarve.

Rent a car if you can — the coastal drives here are next-level beautiful.
Algarve Hiking Experience
Tivoli believes that travel is about much more than hotels and they urge their clients to experience more to make every stay memorable. They offer a wonderful Algarve Hiking experience to learn all about the area and to take in all the stunning landscapes.
We hiked the Seven Hanging Valley trail, “Sete Vales Suspensos” which is a cliffside trail covering the seven different scenic coves. This guided walk took us through the breathtaking cliff tops of the Algarve. We were picked up at our hotel and drove to the starting point of our Algarve hiking experience through the trails with a local guide. The Seven Hanging Valley hike was an easy two-hour hike that stops at the iconic Alfanzina lighthouse and the beautiful beaches.
These hikes are offered every Sunday.
For the more adventurous, the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort is now also offering a longer walk along the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail lasting around three-and-a-half to four hours. This longer walk between Vale Centeanes Beach and Marinha Beach is 11.4 km long.
You can also end your hike with a picnic at the lighthouse with food prepared by the Executive Chef of Tivoli Carvoeiro, Bruno Rocha.
