Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE PERFUME. I like to try different perfumes but once I find the ONE – that will always be my go to perfume. Now that summer is over ( well today it kind of feels like summer) I am starting to wear some different perfumes, but that will be a new blog post. Here are some lovely perfumes that I enjoyed throughout the summer. The SERGE LUTENS Féminité du bois is a new perfume that my daughter just introduced me to. I think it is a nice all year round scent but with more of a preference to wear in the fall beceause of the notes that I smell.
Pink Sugar
Love the sweet smell of this perfume- smells like sweet candy. My daughters love this perfume. This is a fun summer perfume. The smell is addicting.
Stylish and lively, with a distinctive personality, Pink Sugar takes you on a journey through the pleasures and flavors of childhood with a playful blend of vanilla and caramel.
Notes: Bergamot, Sicilian Orange, Raspberry, Fig Leaves, Lily of the Valley, Licorice, Strawberry, Red Fruit, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Caramel, Musk, Wood, Powder. The bottle is a playful pink spiral barber style look.
Style:Playful. Mischievous. Romantic.
Chanel No 5
A popular classic Chanel perfume. I would describe this as a date night perfume. I find the scent to be musky with a hint of floral to it. Who doesn’t love everything Chanel? I would wear this perfume in any season.
Created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1921 to be the ultimate symbol of luxurious simplicity, N°5 has since become more than a fragrance. It is an olfactory heritage: an idea of femininity, a masterpiece of chic, passed on from generation to generation.
Along with the floral-citrus-soapy Aldehydes, CHANEL No. 5 is marked with bursts of zingy Bergamot and Lemon that pierce through the other top notes of intoxicating Ylang Ylang and delicate Neroli. The effervescent top notes almost coming completely lost in the heady floral bouquet of Rose, Jasmine, and Lily-of-the-Valley; not to mention the thick powdery Iris and Orris Root. But the base notes are where this fragrance flourishes.
Captivating notes of masculine Vetiver, smooth Vanilla, glowing Amber, comforting Sandalwood, seductive Civet, and warm Musk draw you in and hold you in their strong embrace. While earthy notes of Oak Moss and Patchouli ground you to a halt allowing you to linger in the magic of CHANEL No. 5 for as long as you can.
Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil
I would describe this perfume as crisp…..it’s a light perfume, great for summer. The scent is a cross between green apple/mango with floral notes. This perfume lingers all day……that when you walk by people ask what you are wearing type of perfume.
Jardin sur le Nil is a sensory stroll along the Nile River. A new translation of freshness: green, mouth-watering, and tangy scents. A fragrance of light and life, generous and sparkling.
Un Jardin sur le Nil: composed in 2005, this is the second destination in this impressionistic travel journal. A stroll in the garden islands of the Nile at Assouan is the starting point for this new olfactory voyage.Green mango, lotus, incense, calamus and sycamore wood are at the heart of this refreshing ode.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream
I find this perfume to be sweet and florally but not overly florally. I’m not a fan of too florally scents but I do like this perfume. The bottle is real cute too.
Inspired by the boundless spirit of daisies and blue skies, Daisy Dream reflects Marc Jacobs’ irresistible mix of intricate details, elegance, and femininity for a fresh interpretation of the iconic Daisy motif. The fruity-floral fragrance has a light and airy touch, bursting with top notes of blackberry, grapefruit, and pear. The heart notes are introduced with a bouquet of jasmine, lychee, and blue wisteria, and a medley of white woods, musks, and coconut water reveal the base notes.
The glass bottle is enveloped in a shawl of laced daisies, topped with a silver cap, and adorned with gold hues and daisy accents.
Notes: Blackberry, Grapefruit, Pear, Jasmine, Lychee, Blue Wisteria, White Woods, Musks, Coconut Water.
SERGE LUTENS Féminité du bois
This is a very unique perfume. The notes are cedar but the first thing I smell is cinnamon. There is no cinnamon in the perfume but I think the combination of cedar and honeyed notes give it that scent. It is slightly musky with sweet notes. This is a great fall perfume.
“This scent expresses the masculine side of femininity and vice-versa. It’s all about cedar. Wood accounted for 60 percent of the composition.
Notes: Cedar, Floral Notes, Honeyed Notes.
What are some of your favorite perfumes?
I have some great fall/ winter perfumes lined up – looking forward to posting about them.
