When we were planning our couples getaway to Bruce County we didn’t want your typical R&R weekend, so we decided to step outside our comfort zone and try some more adventurous things. Knowing we would do a lot of driving and hoping for some sunny days the obvious choice was to drive a convertible! We had some fun with the Mazda Mx-5.
My husband and I have always wondered about convertibles when on our sunny vacations and if they would be fun to drive so when Mazda Canada gave us the opportunity to try a 2017 Mazda MX-5 we we’re thrilled.
First, let me tell you, this car is very fun to drive! Actually it was the most fun we have ever had on 4 wheels .
My husband tells me it has a 155 horsepower 2 litre, 4 cylinder engine that seems very fast because the car is so light and it really did feel quick. I drove a standard 5 speed years ago but this 6 speed transmission was so easy to shift gears: the clutch is comfortable and so is the shifter.
Yes, the interior is compact but the leather seats and steering wheel are so comfortable and sitting low in this car is strangely fun considering we own an Suv.
Now, the engine and interior are great but the real beauty of this car is the sexy exterior styling!
Almost every time we were in the car we noticed it got so many looks from other drivers and we caught people just staring at it’s beauty and I agree…it is a stunning little car !
The soul red metallic paint is gorgeous and the dark rims look perfect for the car.
Finally , the real reason why everyone loves this car : open air driving with the top down !
It sounds funny but it really does give you a rush of excitement without a roof over your head. You would think it would be too windy , but with the top down and the side windows up , all you just feel is the air sailing over your head and the sun in your face …It really is a great feeling !
This was definitely one of our most memorable experiences and now we know a convertible is in our future ! Thanks so much to Mazda Canada for giving us the opportunity to realize our dream!
Have you driven a convertible? Isn’t is so much fun.
