If you have been following along, you will know that my husband and I recently visited Marrakech. Before our trip I did a lot of research, on Instagram of course, to find must-see places in Marrakech. We decided to explore some of the local hotels in Marrakech as the architecture and decor are all so amazing.
We spent an afternoon lunching and indulging in a couples massage at theEs Saadi hotel. As you drive up to the gates of Es Saadi you know it is going to be spectacular. Doormen dressed in traditional garbs greeted us as we entered the lavish entrance. The Es Saadi is a Place that stands at the heart of 8 hectares of lush greenery, just steps from the city. With 3 days in Marrakech, this will give you time to enjoy some spa time.
Lagon & Jardin Restaurant
We lunched at the Lagon & Jardin restaurant that overlooked the turquoise waters of one of the largest pools in Marrakech. The Lagon & Jardin restaurant serves healthy food that proves you can eat tasty, organic meals without compromising on flavor and texture.

PALACE SPA
After lunch, we headed to the Palace Spa for a wonderful couples massage. Es Saadi is home to one of only two Dior Institutes in the world. They offer several luxury treatments for the face and body and are administered in special Dior themed rooms.
If you are in Morocco for a longer period of time, make sure to check out this 3 week Morocco itinerary.
As soon as you step foot into the spa you know that you are in for a treat. My husband and I were escorted to the change rooms where we were each escorted to our own change rooms. We were assigned a locker, like other spas, to lock up our belongings. In the locker was a robe, slippers, and paper underwear. Okay, not just any paper underwear, they were thong paper underwear. This makes total sense to me as with a massage they are using oils and you can either go in the buff or wear these paper undies.
We had two female massage therapists who escorted us into our room and showed us where we could hang our robes behind a glass wall. The only thing that was different was they didn’t step out of the room like at other spas so we disrobed with the therapists in the room. As my husband unrobed I looked over to see if he was wearing the paper thong panties as well. That was it, my eyes popped out of my head. I looked up at my husband and just gave him a weird look. Apparently my husband doesn’t know how to wear a thong. Now I understand why he was in the change room so long. You see, my husband put the thong underwear on backward. I didn’t want to say anything and embarrass him so we both ran to our massage stations (covering our privates) and quickly jumped under the covers.
We had the relaxation massage and that’s exactly what it was, relaxing. That is exactly what we needed after some traveling. After the massage, we went into a lounge area where there were several beds for lounging. We quickly found ourselves relaxing on the beds while sipping on Morrocan mint tea and nibbling on almonds, raisins, and dried apricots.
We could have sat there all day but we had plans to explore Marrakech so it was time to head back to the change rooms and shower. Once we left the spa I just burst out laughing and let my husband know that he had the underwear on backward and that’s why everything was hanging out at the front (insert hysterical laughing). We were both in tears. My husband said when he was in the change room that he kept holding up the underwear wondering what he was supposed to do with them. He tried them on several times and finally decided that the widest part goes in the back – makes total sense right? (okay, I’m laughing again). As soon as he saw me disrobe he knew he had them on the wrong way.
Thank you Es Saadi for an amazing lunch and massage (and even some laughs) at Es Saadi and would highly recommend a visit. Even if you are not staying here, it is a great place to visit for a healthy lunch, a relaxing spa day or just to check out the decor.
