After hearing so many good things about the restaurant Bosk at Shangri-la Toronto, we had an opportunity recently and decided to visit on a weekday to have a nice quiet romantic dinner. The entrance of the Shangri-la Toronto is welcoming with the live piano music playing in the lounge while guests enjoyed their pre-dinner cocktails. The space had a very relaxing end of day vibe.
BOSK AT SHANGRI-LA TORONTO
We chose a lovely table overlooking the outdoor patio which was decorated absolutely fabulously for the holidays. The restaurant interior is very welcoming with warm woods and very subtle details. This became the perfect setting for a wonderful evening of fine dining.

The menu at Bosk ( which translates to forest ) is decidedly Canadian with seasonal local ingredients, prepared with an Asian twist. It was quite a decision choosing between a three or four course option. Our waiter was very knowledgeable in the dish preparations and very helpful with wine pairings. Always asking which dishes are favourites is one thing that really makes choosing from an intricate menu much easier.

Fresh New Brunswick Oysters

Nova Scotia Scallops with Gold Char Roe

Bespoke Grass Fed Beef

Fisherfolk Atlantic Halibut
After a few bites of the first course we knew we were in for a treat. With each following dish it was clear that this is a place where top quality ingredients are a must. From the incredibly fresh oysters from New Brunswick (probably the best we’ve ever had) to the perfectly cooked local grass fed steak, everything was exceptional!

Carrot and Ginger Cheesecake
As if a perfect meal wasn’t enough, we were offered to have dessert, tea and an aperitif on the outdoor patio by the fire, with faux fur lined benches complete with warmed blankets!
The setting was so cozy and inviting that we just wanted to stay all night.
With it’s prestigious location in the Shangri-la hotel in the heart of the financial district, It’s no surprise that Bosk is an outstanding restaurant, but matched with the “winter wonderland” themed outdoor patio, there are few places in Toronto like it. Thank you so much Bosk for an outstanding dinner.
