San Rocco Heritage Hotel Location
The San Rocco Hotel is located in Brtonigla, a small village located in the north-western part of Istria. The small village is known as the “small place of great discoveries”. Expect to hear both Croatian and Italian being spoken in this region. The area is surrounded by beautiful hills, preserved buildings, vineyards, and olive groves. In fact, San Rocco Heritage Hotel is surrounded by a large park and an olive grove making this a picturesque and romantic setting to enjoy your time in Istria.
San Rocco Heritage Hotel Rooms
The San Rocco hotel consists of 14 double rooms. Don’t expect to see any single beds here. Each room offers unique designs that include decor in stone, wood, and wrought iron. There are different room categories that vary in size and location. The bathrooms all have toiletries made of Mediterranean herbs.
There are two Classic rooms that are slightly smaller than the other rooms but equally comfortable.
There are nine Comfort rooms with views of the village, pool, and the park. The rooms have all the amenities. Some are equipped with a standard bathtub while some have a hydromassage tub.
There are two Tradition rooms that are located in the main building overlooking the swimming pool and the park.
There is one new Vintage Suite that has all the comforts that you would expect in a luxury hotel along with the charm and character of stone walls and wood beams.
The Cavalier Suite is the former barn. The room has beautiful white stone walls, Baroque-style furniture, oak flooring as well as all the luxury amenities. The room is two levels and has views of the green fields and the sea in the distance.
Gourmet Dining at San Rocco Restaurant
Restaurant San Rocco is a Member of the Association des Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe and is on the top of the Istrian and Croatian cuisine scene. Expect a gastronomic dining experience based mainly on typical seasonal specialties, such as fresh locally caught fish, truffles, mushrooms, ham, game, and other typical Istrian specialties.
Our dining experience included Sea bass with pesto barley, Ricotta gnocchi, Istrian veal carpaccio, Scallops lardo, Calamari on a bed of squid ink orzo, Whitefish ravioli, a delicious dessert, and a selection of their olive oils.
The restaurant has been included in many national and international gastronomic guides such as Veronelli, Le Guide de l’Espresso, Magnar Ben, A tavola con il Nordest, Restaurant Croatica, Gault Millau, and Wo ist Österreich.
Not only do they serve fabulous dinners but the buffet breakfast spread is impressive as well. There is a selection of local meats and cheeses along with fruit, freshly baked bread, and a delicious assortment of desserts. You can also order an omelet or eggs any way you like them.

Get ready for some rest and relaxation at the spa area that features an indoor pool with large windows overlooking the property, a hot tub, and a sauna.
