Happy New Year From Palm Springs

Happy New Year!!

Wow, hard to believe 2016 has come and gone.

My husband and I flew to Palm Springs, California New Year’s eve morning.  We flew on Air Canada Rouge.  Our flight was a little delayed as we had to wait to have the airplane de-iced, we are in Toronto in December/January after all!!

The flight from Toronto to Palm Springs was 5 hours.  I am so glad that I packed some Buddha Brand Co Hungry Coconut Chips.  My husband and I polished off two snack bags.

I also packed my Vichy Hand and Nail cream and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal water.  It is always so dry on an airplane.  I hate that feeling when my hands are dry.  I felt so refreshed after spraying the Vichy Mineralized water on my face.

We were well on our way just after 9am.  I wasn’t impressed with the selection of movies on board – there were only a handful of movies and probably only one movie from 2016.  There were some movies from 2005!  I usually look forward to watching movies on a flight as they are usually pretty recent movies…..not this time.  Other than that, it was a good flight.  We had some turbulence when flying over Denver…..but we made it!  We landed just after 11am Palm Springs time.

I love Palm Springs airport.  Half the terminal is outside.  It is a very interesting terminal.

We decided to head out for lunch since we haven’t had anything to eat since 7am.  We decided to eat at TRIO restaurant.  They had a 3 course lunch menu for $19.99 and all you can drink champagne for $12.99……how awesome.

Delicious.

After lunch we visited the Palm Springs Art Museum.

After the museum we decided to visit Trader Joe’s to pick up some staples…..like water and beer!  We drove to our hotel, Welk Resorts Desert Oasis, to see if we could check in as it was 3pm.  We arrived at our hotel and we were told that our hotel room wasn’t ready yet but that it would be ready around 4pm.  We drove out to the Whole Foods to kill some time and drove back to the hotel for 4pm.  We were told that our room still wasn’t available.  My husband insisted they give us another room as we had dinner reservations for 6pm and wanted to take a shower and get ready.  They assigned us another room.  We proceeded to the room when someone met us there and let us know that our original room was available.  We decided to go back to our original room as it is a room with a view.

We finally got to unpack and take a shower and get ready for dinner.  I don’t normally wear bold lipstick but since it was New Year’s I thought I would change things up.  I think I’m going to start wearing more bold coloured lipsticks.  I wore the Teeez Cosmetics Material Girl lipstick in Tainted Love.  This is a lovely full coverage lipstick that kept my lips hydrated and stayed on through dinner.

We had dinner reservations at Lulu California Bistro.  We ordered from a 4 course dinner menu for $49 per person plus drinks.

We had a great night.  We were going to join the outdoor New Years Eve party but it started raining so we headed back to our hotel.  It was a long day and I was actually glad to head back to the hotel.

I hope you all had an amazing New Years!

Wishing you all health, happiness, and prosperity for 2017!
