It seems like I come across a new diet every day that is making headlines. I came across the carnivore diet a few years back and have always been super curious.
Out of curiosity and a stall in weight loss, I have decided to try the diet for myself. Make sure to check in with your doctor before trying any diet. This diet may not be right for everyone. I have tried my fair share of diets, like the Bernstein Diet.
This way of eating is extremely simple but not always easy. It takes the guesswork of what you are going to eat as there are now vegetable side dishes. On the other hand, it can be difficult if you are going out and socializing with friends. Try the bulletproof coffee for your morning java kick.

Information You Need To Know About a Carnivore Diet
What Exactly is a Carnivore Diet?
A carnivore diet consists of eating only animal products such as meat and fish as well as animal by-products like eggs and cheese.
No other food is eaten on a carnivore diet. No vegetables, no fruit, no bread, etc.
It is restrictive in the sense of your food selections but not necessarily in the amount of food to consume. Most information I read on a carnivore diet says to eat until you are satisfied and to not be hungry.

How does the Carnivore diet work?
A carnivorous diet is pretty simple to follow in the sense that there isn’t a huge selection of food groups to eat as you will only be eating fish, meat eggs, and animal products such as butter, eggs, and cheese.
It is said that a carnivore diet will help with weight loss because you are cutting out all sugars and all sources of carbohydrates as well as regulating your blood sugar and improving your mood.

What are the side effects of an All Meat Diet?
One of the main side effects I have personally had from eating an all-meat diet is loose stools. That would mainly be due to eating more fat. Eventually, the body will get used to the additional fat.
You may experience a headache as you will go into ketosis. Make sure to drink a lot of water.

Carnivore Diet Common Questions
Can you eat peanut butter on a Carnivore Diet?
No, peanut butter is not an animal product.
How to Eat out on a Carnivore diet?
It doesn’t have to be difficult eating out on this diet. I will typically order grilled meat such as a steak, pork chop, fish, or grilled chicken and ask for no sides. You can also order a hamburger without the bun. Careful with chicken wings as they are usually coated with flour before being fried.
Is Carnivore better than keto?
I don’t think it is necessarily better but it is different. On keto, you can have vegetables and have a daily carbohydrate limit. On a carnivore diet, you will just be eating animal products.
Can I lose weight on a carnivore diet?
Yes, you can lose weight on this meat-only diet. Most people will experience some sort of weight loss as you will be cutting out all processed food.
Can you drink coffee on a Carnivore Diet?
Yes, absolutely. I can’t function without my morning coffee. Instead of using milk try making a butter coffee or add full-fat cream to your coffee.
Is honey allowed?
That depends. Technically honey is an animal product so if you are not looking to lose weight then I would think it is okay in small amounts. If your goal is to lose weight then I would avoid honey.
Can you have too much meat?
I guess you can overeat anything, especially carbohydrates. I personally don’t think you can overeat protein sources as they are extremely satiating. If you are concerned with eating too much meat then calculate your own protein needs and keep track of what you eat.
